Table of Contents (click to expand) Communication And Speaking: What Do They Do? Why Can’t Animals Talk? Foxp2: Fascination Humans are the only species on this planet that have the ability to “speak”.
So what is the reason that other animals do not have this ability?
It is absolutely right.
Why can’t animals like us talk to us?
Several movies depict or are based on such scenarios, in which animals talk not only to each other, but also to humans.
indeed, what gives us the ability to communicate in this way?

Communication and conversation: What do they mean?
Communication and conversation can be very ambiguous, so let me explain what I want.
Every species shares.
Even isolated organizations have the ability to communicate.
This communication does not have to be in the form of spoken word.
When I say ‘talk’, I mean the ability that people have not only to say when they are hungry, but also about their plans for the coming weekend.
A young person does not need to learn how to communicate from their parents.
For example, cats do not teach their kittens how to purr when they are happy or how to hiss when they are angry.
A dog does not need to be trained to wag its tail when it is happy or to bark.
But we learn something by talking.
We learn other languages from our parents, or from other people.

Besides the basic production of sound, there is a large part of the meaning behind the word.
The words “dog” or “apples” mean nothing except as pronounced by the English.
And the same sound can have different meanings in different languages; Similarly, the same thing can have different names in different languages.
Mine is that when we speak, it involves the production of the sound and the feeling behind it.

Now that we have destroyed the act of speaking, or more simply, it will be easier to answer the aforementioned question.
When we think about why animals cannot talk, we must consider why they cannot do two activities at the same time.
The word ‘simultaneous’ is essential because animals are known to perform either one of 2 functions, but it cannot be thought of as ‘speak’.
For parrots imitate the sounds made by humans.
Or there are animals, such as whales, which teach their young to sing.
But these do not have their own meaning behind them.
Parrots can imitate the sound made by humans (Photo credit: Pixabay) In humans, there are many reasons that can be attributed to our ability to speak.
For example, it is believed that our predecessors, the apes, could not speak as we do, because their voice box did not descend as far as ours.
Indeed, the structure could not play a greater role, if indeed it is within our capacity.
This part of the brain is less developed, or absent in other animals.
Hence it is said to confer upon us the faculty of speech.
There is also the presence of certain pathways, except in certain animals, in humans.
Other kinds of animals which are said to have these ways are birds, such as birds, songbirds, parrots, and also mammals, such as bats and cetaceans.
Foxp2: Fascinating Gene Another factor that gives us this ability is the FOXP2 gene.
Dysfunctional genes lead to speech and language problems.
While this type may affect other genes, it is still not clear which gene(s) correspond to speech and language.
Another view, presented by Elaine Morgan, says that our ability to speak should also be part of our evolutionary path.
Since the time of the aquatic monkeys, we have learned to consciously control our breathing, which makes the sounds we need to speak.
Whales teach their pups songs (Photo Credit: Wikimedia Commons) There are animals, such as parrots and even elephants, that can imitate our words.
But such animals do not understand the meaning of these words, as stated above.
In a nutshell, communication is a unique ability possessed by humans.
From what we know, I can only answer that it can be explained that our evolution has given us this ability, and therefore it has played its part in making the species superior to humans.
Although other animals show the ability to imitate the sounds we make, or have their own methods of internal communication, to date, no other animals have shown the same ability as humans.
But perhaps the real question to ask is how these other animals communicate.
Perhaps a less anthropocentric view will lead us to ask the right questions and thus find better answers.
